Hi, I’m Tina, and yes this image is quite a few years old now, but I love it. It reminds me of when performing was my raison d’être!

I have over 30 years’ professional aerial experience. I travelled as an aerialist and acro-balancer with traditional and contemporary circuses for 5 years; ran my own performing arts company Expressive Feat Productions for 9 years; even co-founded the Kent Circus School many years ago! And throughout this time, I have been performing, teaching, creating, choreographing, and am of course still learning! I even completed a PhD, Suspending Conventions looking at disability and aerial.

I am NOT a traditional Yoga Teacher but have had an extensive practice and undergone Continuous Professional Development training for professional movement practitioners in safe practices, guided practices, and meditation. I do not teach yoga. I teach Airhedz Aerial Yoga that draws on my wealth of aerial knowledge, and my love of yoga.

My aerial yoga starts with the aerial, with the safe use of hammocks and explorations in suspension. I use the fabric and the floor in creative ways to build sequences that support and challenge strength, balance, mobility, and endurance.

I offer Taster Sessions where those new to the form, or new to me, can try a session before committing to a course, or just give it a go as something to tick of that long Bucket List! I totally appreciate that it’s not a perfect fit for all.

My courses run in blocks that incorporate workouts for the whole body with progressions and adaptations built in wherever possible. They aim to be fun and challenging, and always end in a quietening relaxation either in the hammock or on the floor.

I encourage everyone to accept where you are at when in the class, to gently push yourself forwards in your own time, and to be kind to yourself if things take longer than you’d like to grasp. We’re all on our own journey.
